- The Alameda de Capuchinos dates back to 1577, which makes it the oldest park in the city of Jaén.
- It originally lay outside the wall that protected the city, and was reached through the Puerta del Ángel.
- It has been remodelled several times; one of the most significant changes was made by Dean Mazas, who added a carriage drive.
- Its lovely gardens and leafy trees make a charming promenade, where the shade offers shelter through the summer months.
- By day it belongs to the elderly and to children. At night, young people and couples make La Alameda their place to go out.
