- Located under the church, San Ildefonso Catacombs occupied the same extension as the church itself from entrance to the altar.
- Looking like a maze, after the last restoration works the walls are full of closed niches, harbouring the remains of martyrs, saints and the wealthy people of the time.
- The crypts are specially well-known for being the place where the remains of the great Renaissance artist Andres de Vandelvira rest for eternity.
- There is a plaque indicating the exact place where Vandelvira remains are, however it is not the original place where he was buried. It was moved at the beginning of the 17th century with the relocation of Virgen de la Capilla’s lady chapel.
