- It follows the model of the 16th-century noble town house, set around a central courtyard. The tower at one end of the building stands out.
- It housed schools and other public offices, which left it badly deteriorated. Since its restoration it has housed the Urban Planning Department of Jaén City Council.
More about this place…
On Plaza de la Merced, in the very heart of the old town, the Palace of Captain Quesada Ulloa follows the model of the 16th-century noble town house. It is set around a main courtyard, and its tower, with a pair of brick twin windows, stands out. Along the façade we can see remains of ornamentation, with emblematic details and coats of arms of the time. Recently restored, it now houses the Urban Planning Department of Jaén City Council.
