• With barely 2,000 inhabitants, Segura de la Sierra stands 1,240 metres up in the very centre of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park.
  • The village reached its height under Arab rule, a time recalled by its spectacular castle and its Arab baths, places we have already shown you here.
  • Today we invite you on a walk through its narrow, steep streets: a lovely route past the house where the poet Jorge Manrique was born, the Imperial Fountain of Charles V, the parish church of Nuestra Señora del Collado and its square bullring.
  • Four of the gates that led into the town through the wall can still be seen today: Catena, Gontar, Orcera and the Puerta Nueva, rebuilt in the 16th century.
