Refugio de Miramundos

  • Miramundos’ shelter is located at 2077 meters high and offers spectacular views over Jaen’s province and beyond.
  • From Miramundos we could see Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Park, Sierra de Andujar and other mountain ranges outside Jaen such as, Sierra de Baza, Sierra Nevada or Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama’s Natural Park.
  • Part of the path we take to go to Miramundos is shared with the path to go to Magina’s Peak – with 2167 meters high is the ceiling of Jaen’s Province – so this route is not an easy one due to the high incline level.
  • The shelter has been refurbished lately by the Mountain Club ‘Amigos de Miramundos’. Currently it is in good conditions, and it holds an annual visitors book collecting all visitors’ comments.

More about this place…

Sierra Magina Natural Park holds the highest peaks in the province. Miramundos (meaning ‘look at the world)’ shelter is 2077 meters high, and it offers spectacular views of Jaen’s province and beyond; allowing us to see Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Baza or Sierras de Tejada, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. To get up there we will take the path from Canada de las Cruces; and it is a hard route as part of it is shared with the path to Magina’s Peak. After going through a high incline level we will finally arrive to Miramundos; our reward, not just because of the beauty of the path we followed to come here, but also the remarkable sight to our eyes when we get to the shelter, pure luxury to our senses. From here, we could come back using the same path that took us here, or we could carry on following the path till Magina Peak, with 2167 meter high is ceiling of Jaen’s Province.
